Teaching Cases
Our faculty produces two types of teaching cases – Authentic Assessments and Mini-Cases.
Authentic Assessments
Authentic assessment is a form of assessment in which students are required to perform tasks that demonstrate the meaningful application of knowledge to situations that mirror the kinds of problems they are likely to face in the real-world. An authentic assessment item can be used to facilitate student learning in a number of ways, such as in-class discussion, as an individual assignment, a group assignment or for examination purposes.
Some of our assessments include:
n A Joint Venture of Two Giants: The case of BP-TNK
n Financing International Expansion at Jollibee Foods Corporation
n Kellogg Company: Creating strategic alignment with the balanced scorecard
n Krating Daeng: Devising a Marketing Strategy for the Thailand Market (View inspection copy)
n Selecting an IT Outsourcing Vendor for FantasticGreece.com

Mini-Cases
Mini-cases are a condensed form of cases intended for schools that adopt a case method approach to learning. The shorter format allows students to more quickly grasp the essence of a case without having to absorb excess detail but still gain sufficient insight to generate meaningful in-class discussion. Mini-cases are designed to facilitate coverage of topical issues where the development of a full case may take considerable time. They are particularly well-suited to programmes designed for an executive audience.
Some of our mini-cases include:
n China's Health Care Reforms: Improving Access and Quality
n Gold-Plated Taps: A Story of Greed at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF)
n India's Enron: The Satyam Accounting Scandal (View inspection copy)
n The Porsche-Volkswagen Merger
